EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST - JOB TRAINING CENTER - SUPPORTED LIVING ARRANGEMENTS

Opportunities, Programs and Services

All person’s at Fallon Industries facilities receive individualized person centered planning and training with the purpose of developing skills and experiences that will help them reach their highest potential, our participants are vital members of our communities.  Fallon Industries partners with state agencies, private organizations and business to address goals, natural supports and positive outcomes for people with disabilities and their families. Work schedules are flexible and based on individual ability. Wages are based on work performance.

Community Work Contracts

Participants work on jobs procured from local and state business and industry, including assembly, packaging, shipping, recycling and piece work.  People learn a variety of skills at a pace and level that is suited to each individual. Wages are paid on a rate methodology approved by the U.S. Department of Labor.

Community Work Sites

Local businesses hire Fallon Industries to perform work at their place of business. A small group is accompanied by supervisor, who assists and trains people with on the job experiences and work projects Wal Mart and Western Nevada College are our partners.  This work experience prepares and provides persons with community experiences and permanent employment opportunities.  Wages are earned by each individual based on work performance as compared to industrial standard. Fallon Industries contracts with all business and handles all payroll issues for its workers.

 

Supported Community Employment

Pre-Vocational/Day Programs

Fallon Industries Centers provide basic functional skills, such as communication, social skills, safety and hygiene.  Environments that allow people a safe and comfortable place to explore and experience independence supported by staff. Recreational actives during work hours support families and people with disabilities. 

Outings include community events, movies, museums, parks and holiday parties.  These events help develop such skills as social interaction, money management, appropriate dress and planning.  Recreational activities offer community interaction in a variety of settings.

Supporting Living and Intensive Supported Living
Fallon Industries offers a variety of services to people who need assistance with basic living skills, allowing people to live in their communities independently. Program objectives are:

  • To enhance the quality of life for all in our supported living program
  • To encourage people to set goals for themselves based on their needs
  • To remove barriers that limits the potential of person with disabilities
  • To change the concept of disability to ability
  • To assist people in becoming more independent and self sufficient with the support of staff
  • To encourage the use of natural support networks, such as family members and friends
  • To provide money management skills and involve people in money decisions that impact quality of life.

Transportation

Fallon Industries offers specialized transportation for participants including medical, living skills and access to work.
